SmartUp – Social Innovation Lab announces a call for: 1 (one) translator from Macedonian to Albanian and a Macedonian language proofreader.
As part of the project "Creating an environment that enables the improvement of the quality of teaching and learning through co-creation and innovation," aimed at developing the educational content base of Eduino, the national education web platform, SmartUp – Social Innovation Lab is announcing a call to engage 1 (one) translator from Macedonian to Albanian, including proofreading in Macedonian towards the development of educational materials and content intended for activities with children.
The materials to be developed are:
- templates (in print-ready format) for conducting activities;
- educational material for conducting play-based activities;
- educational activities accompanied by guidelines for implementing play-based learning or promoting socio-emotional development in children;
- questionnaires and other documents needed for the Eduino platform.
The developed materials and activities will be published and uploaded on the national education web platform EDUINO, available at www.eduino.gov.mk.

The Eduino platform contains video lectures, resources, games, and educational activities to support the educational process. Eduino aims to become a collective platform where, together with children, educators, and parents, new resources and materials will be created, reviewed, and published, building the first national library of digital educational materials in our country. The library of educational activities on the Eduino platform includes educational activities, as well as several prepared digital games and instructions for their installation and play.
Purpose: These activities and materials aim to help promote learning through play and the development of socio-emotional skills in students both inside and outside formal education, and currently, we are working on activities intended for home use.

Required skills and qualifications:
- authorized Macedonian language proofreader, performing proofreading and language editing of various types of texts and documents where the use of standard Macedonian language is required;
- authorized translator from Macedonian to Albanian, translating documents into standard Albanian;
- excellent knowledge and use of Microsoft Office package (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and related tools for effective work such as Google Drive, Outlook, etc.;
- experience and work in a multidisciplinary team (past experience and collaboration with graphic designers, illustrators) will be considered a plus;
- ability to work in a dynamic work environment, under pressure and within tight deadlines;
- desire to create educational and play activities for children.
Candidates with a portfolio and participation in proofreading and/or translation of published books, materials, and/or manuals for children, as well as those with experience in developing educational materials, texts, and/or content for children, will be given preference.
Logistical information related to the work engagement:
- The person is expected to start work in August 2020
- The engagement is planned to last 3 months, with the possibility of extension
- The daily working hours for this position are 8 hours, from 09:00 to 17:00
- The weekly working hours are Monday to Friday, with daily reporting of completed tasks
- The offices are located in the Old Bazaar, Skopje, but due to the COVID-19 situation, we currently work remotely, with the possibility of coming to the offices.
